Increasing Self-Sufficiency of Energy Community by Common Thermal Energy Storage

Customers energy consumption pattern affects directly the grid burden, especially during peak hours. In recent years, many different control methods have been proposed to shift off-peak hours through demand response (DR) management. order effective DR management, optimization has a key role. Thus, increasing benefits for customers and encouraging them consider new controlling approaches in their daily is needed increased customer participation. On other hand, renewables are integrated with buildings decrease buildings’ costs dependency on utilities. This study moves step further considers few numbers of neighboring houses as an community. The community commits sharing produced from individual distributed solar system each self-sufficiency by minimizing import export power from/to grid. research focuses applying common electric heat storage when community’s own PV generation used thermal generation/storing compares it case which house its storage. Then, sized storages tested find best solution. results compared terms energy, annual payback-time. It concluded that could exchange payback-time investments be reduced members.
